View Video Tribute Juanita Green Hardwick Leftwich, 88, long-time resident of the Hampshire Community, passed away Monday, October 10, 2011 at NHC Hillview. Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Rock Jaggers officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. The family suggests memorials to Hampshire Unit School, 4335 Old State Road, Hampshire 38461 or the Hampshire Museum, 2389 Highway 166 North, Hampshire 38461. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Lawrence County, she was the daughter of the late Clarence O. Green and Stella Beckham Green and a graduate of Lawrence County High School. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold M. Hardwick. She later married Samuel A. "Booster" Leftwich who died May 1, 1991. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris M. (Forest) Plott. Fondly called "Granny" by family and friends, she loved gardening, sewing, and was a self-taught artist. Her favorite pastime was going on "adventures" with each of her grandchildren and day-trips with friends. Survivors include a son, Robert M. "Bobby" (Jeannette) Hardwick of Senatobia, Mississippi; daughter, Pat (Bobby) Grimmitt of Hampshire; grandchildren, Robby (Julie) Hardwick, South Haven, Mississippi, Stephanie (Jeff) Irvin of Coldwater, Mississippi, Sammy Ray (Kimberly) Gilliam of Hampshire, Patricia Jane "P.J." Gilliam of Columbia, David and Sherrie Long of Rock Hill, South Carolina, and Michael and Elizabeth Wenghofer of York, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Josh Irvin (fiancée` Elizabeth Lebitor), Jordan Irvin (fiancé Jim Woods), Hannah Irvin, Sabrina Gilliam, Cortney Gilliam, Sydney Gilliam, Cameron Long, Spencer Long, Samantha Wenghofer, Sierra Wenghofer. Active pallbearers are Robby Hardwick, Sammy Gilliam, Jeff Irvin, Josh Irvin, Jim Wood, Ronnie Hinson, Michael Wenghofer, David Long, Kenny Connor, Gene Ray Baxter, Ronnie Plott, Harry Roberts, Kenny Cecil, J. T. Duncan, and Dan Grimmitt. Honorary pallbearers include special friends, Patricia Jarrell, Leatha Lou Whiteside, and NHC Hillview family.
