Julia Hargrove Cutter Church, age 95, passed away on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at The Lantern at Morning Pointe in Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Rick Elsey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 1:00 P.M. till the time of service at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Born on October 17, 1930, in Maury County, Tennessee, Julia was the daughter of the late William Clyde Hargrove and the late Ruby Read Hargrove. She was a 1948 graduate of Columbia Central High School and later attended Middle Tennessee State University. On March 21, 1952, she married Joe Ervin Cutter, who preceded her in death on April 18, 2006. She later married Herbert C. Church Sr., who preceded her in death on December 30, 2017. Before moving to Kentucky to be closer to her daughter, Julia was a longtime member of West End Baptist Church, where she was known for her steadfast faith, kind spirit, and devotion to her church family.
She is survived by her daughter, Nanette (Chris) Jones; her son, Barry (Robyn) Cutter; and her son-in-law, Jeffery Wenn.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Betsy Cutter Wenn.
Julia will be remembered for her love of family, her strong faith, and the warmth and grace she shared with all who knew her.
