Julia Cummins Holt

Julia Cummins Holt, 97, retired administrative secretary for TVA and longtime resident of Columbia, died Monday, June 8, 2015 at Brighton Gardens in Charlotte, North Carolina where she had made her home for the past several years. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 3:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with John Vaughan officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 1:00 - 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born May 9, 1918 in Hickman County, she was the daughter of the late Robert S. Cummins and Clara Church Cummins. She was married to James Alec Holt who preceded her in death December 30, 1995. She had attended Graymere Church of Christ and Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter & son-in-law, Sue Ann & John B. Hart, Jr.; and grandsons, Keith S. Hart and Philip C. Hart, all of Charlotte, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her sister, Robbie Sue Cummins Bratton. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Morrow, Billy Dan Morrow, Greg Hayes, William "Bill" Pogue, Philip Hart, Billy Church, Doug Church and James Robert Tucker. Honorary pallbearers will include Larry Delk and Tommy Skelley.
