Katherine Rebecca Harlan Scott, 86, longtime resident of the Culleoka Community, died March 27. She was the widow of Robert Murphy "Bobby" Scott. The family will visit with friends at Oakes & Nichols from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 12. A graveside service will follow at 12:00 noon at Wilkes Cemetery in the Culleoka Community with John Vaughan officiating. Born and reared on the Williamsport Pike, she was the eldest child of the late Abner Clyde Harlan and Ozell Jones Harlan and a proud member of the Central High School Class of 1946. Following her marriage to Mr. Scott, she resided on their farm near Culleoka. She and her late husband restored the historic Nathaniel Moore home on their farm and resided there for many years. She attended Ephesus Church of Christ and Graymere Church of Christ and was a member of the James K. Polk Association. Survivors include daughters, Sherisse Scott Hurst of Knoxville and Kaye Scott (T. Scott) Smith of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina; son, Robert Harlan (Lena Towler) Scott, Sr. of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren, Robert Harlan (Brooke) Scott, Jr. of Salt Lake City, Utah, Dr. Katherine Martin Rainey (David Schlueter) of West Lafayette, Indiana, Andrew Towler ((Bonnie) Scott of Carbondale, Colorado, Cory Rainey Davis of Seattle, Washington, William Campbell Scott of Salt Lake City, Utah, Rebecca Scott Blank, Ralston Everett Smith and Nell Elizabeth Smith, all of Sullivan's Island, South Carolina; great-grandchildren, Alice Woods Scott and Katherine Parker Scott of Salt Lake City, Utah, Towler Wilson Scott and Bailey Kellogg Scott of Carbondale, Colorado and Henry Scott Schlueter of West Lafayette, Indiana; sister, Lois Harlan (Gillie) Orr of Columbia; brother, A. C. (Ginger) Harlan, Jr. of Columbia; sister-in-law, Jean C. Harlan of Columbia; nieces Virginia Orr (Steve) Sharpe and Gayle Harlan (Mike) Parrott of Columbia; nephews, Ed Harlan and Al (Jenny) Harlan of Columbia, Don (Tammye) Harlan of Franklin, Mac (Betsy) Orr of Atlanta, David (Lorraine) Harlan of Jackson and Patrick (Julie) Harlan of Columbia. She will be missed by them all. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Harlan. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Sharpe, Steven Scott , Stanley Scott, and Mike Parrott..
