Kathleen Gemmell

Kathleen Gemmell, 82, resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Jody Gamble and John Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Kathleen was born on May 22, 1944 in the Duck River Community of Hickman County. On April 5, 1963, she married William “Bill” Herman Gemmell, who preceded her in death on November 2, 2018.Kathleen worked as a sales clerk for several major retail stores before retiring to spend more time with her family. She was a member of The Lelia Anderson Circle chapter of the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons and a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Columbia.

Above all, Kathleen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her family was the center of her life, and her loved ones remained by her side until the end. She will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and the special place she held in the hearts of those who knew her.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
