View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Kathleen Grooms McCoy, 70 retired from Mt. Pleasant Manufacturing Company and resident of Southport Road, died Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. William Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Bill Grooms and Grace McCullom Grooms. Her husband, Jimmy McCoy, died January 13, 1995. Mrs. McCoy was a member of Porter's Chapel United Methodist Church and was well-known for taking care of her family and friends. Survivors include her sister, Thelma Floyd of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Harold Grooms of Mt. Pleasant; sister-in-law, Annie Pearl McCoy; niece, Norma Sue Barnett of Columbia and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Nance and brothers, Amos Grooms, Dudley Grooms, Ray Grooms, and Alvin Grooms. Serving as pallbearers are Steve Grooms, Larry Grooms, Mike Floyd, Bobby Gene "Red" Workman, Bill Nance, Jim Nance, and Timmy Nance.
