Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy McNeece and Judge Bobby Sands officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday and Sunday evenings from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Monday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 6, 1947 in Mt. Pleasant, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Thomas Wright and Nell Higgins Wright. She was a 1966 graduate of Hay Long High School. Kathy was elected Circuit Court Clerk on September 1, 1994 and she served in that capacity for nineteen years until her retirement on December 31, 2013. She had formerly served as the Victim Witness Coordinator for the District Attorney's office. She was a member of State of Tennessee Clerk's Association and Professional Business Women of America. Kathy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and an avid UT fan. Her favorite pastimes included fishing, reading, and gardening. Survivors include her husband of forty-six years, Bobby W. Kelley of Columbia; daughter and son-in-law, Leigh Ann & Chad Fletcher of Columbia; grandson who was her pride and joy, Brett Kelley of Columbia; three sisters, Alice Wright (Delmer) Lovett of Columbia; Monte Wright (Denny) Davis of Old Hickory; Patty Wright (Judge Jim T.) Hamilton of Columbia; brother, Wray (Sondra) Wright of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Tommy Wright, Larry Wright, Al Gene Wright, and Harry Wright. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Grooms, Jamie Grooms, Marty Lovett, Cheyenne McNeese, Kenneth Hughes, and Adam West. Honorary pallbearers will be Judge Bobby Sands, Judge Jim T. Hamilton, Judge Stella Hargrove, Judge Bobby Holloway, Judge Robert L. Jones, Peggy Fuller, Circuit Court Clerk Sandy McLain, Circuit Court Clerk & General Sessions Employees, and Jim Matthews.
