View Video TributeKenneth Hardin Berlin, 78, retired employee of Genesco, died Friday, June 21, 2013 at his residence on Lookout Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 4:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Tommy Hood officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Ring Cemetery in Pottsville. The Maury County native was the son of the late Floyd Hardin "Slim" Berlin and Minnie Pearl McKee Berlin. He was a 1953 graduate of Columbia Central High School and attended Tennessee Tech for one year. Mr. Berlin retired as supervisor after thirty-five years employment at Genesco Corporation's various locations. One of his favorite pastimes was watching his grandchildren's sports activities. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of Old Lasea Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife whom he married March 31, 1956, Edwina Johnson Berlin of Columbia; daughter, Karen Berlin (Steve) Beckham of Waynesboro; sons, Kenny (Connie) Berlin of Columbia; Terry (Kim) Berlin of Waynesboro; sister, Judy (Phil) Tidwell of Texas; brothers, Bo (Nancy) Berlin of Rock Island; Ralph (Pam) Berlin of Triune; grandchildren, Kristal Parham, Brenton Berlin, Aubree (Derek) Willis, Andy Beckham, Alex Berlin, Brady Berlin; great grandchildren, Gracie Parham, Easton Parham, Makenna Willis, Colton Berlin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Connelly; and three brothers, Jerry Berlin, Danny Berlin, and Ronnie Berlin. Active pallbearers will be Brenton Berlin, Andy Beckham, Alex Berlin, Brady Berlin, Danny Berlin, Jr., and Mark Berlin. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarge Westmoreland, Tony Jones, Bobby Chance, and Jackie Derryberry.
