Kenneth James, 69, retired welding inspector for Arnold Engineering Development Corporation in Tullahoma, died Friday, November 23, 2012 at his residence on Mooresville Pike in the Culleoka Community. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Born in Boonesville, Arknasas, he was the son of the late James Tuckness and Dorthea Beasley Tuckness. After graduating from high school in Knoxville, he attended the University of Tennessee and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science. He also served four years in the U. S. Navy. Mr. James was an animal lover, especially goats, cats, and dogs, was an avid outdoorsman and gun collector, and enjoyed reading mystery novels. Survivors include his wife, Freyja Devine James, whom he married in 1984; daughters, Merrygay James and Eleanor (James Milton Wood Hancock) Hancock, of Columbia; brothers, Bruce (Wendy) Crandall of Florida and Tom (Jean) Crandall of Knoxville; and nephew, Tristan Crandall of Florida. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
