Kenneth P. Lord III, 81, resident of Williamsport, joined his former comrades in arms on May 1, 2024.

Born September 30, 1942, he was the son of the late Kenneth P. Lord Jr., and the late Marian Bainbridge Lord. Mr. Lord graduated from Middle Tennessee University where he received a B.S. degree and a commission in the U.S. Army in Armor. Lord served 28 years both active and active reserve. He served two combat tours in Vietnam as both an Advisor to a Vietnamese Calvary Troop, Commander of a U.S. Army Cavalry Troop and Senior Logistics Officer to an Infantry Brigade. Lord served as the Aide De Camp to the Commanding General, Ft. Gordon, GA. and subsequently transferred to Military Police where he served in various training commands, was the Operations Officer of a Military Police Brigade and ended his tour of duty commanding a Military Police Battalion in Nashville, TN. Collateral with the military service, Lord was a Senior Civilian Special Agent with Naval Criminal Investigative Service serving in Georgia, Japan, Washington DC, and finally in Memphis, TN. Lord retired from NCIS in 1997 and started Lord & Associate, a private investigation company. He was affiliated with several local attorney offices but was primarily an investigator with the Law Office of John B. Wells, Slidell, LA working with Wells defending military cases. He also did background investigations for several different federal contractors.

Lord is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Baumgartner of Old Hickory, TN; two brothers, William B. (Wendy) Lord of Columbia, and Daniel C. Lord of Binghamton NY; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Kinzer Lord.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Williamsport United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Williamsport Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the U.S. Army. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until the time of service at the Church.
