Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Bowers and Rev. Ronnie Kephart officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday and Tuesday evenings from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Goshen United Methodist Cemetery Fund, c/o Winfred Baker, 4638 Bass Alderson Road, Williamsport, TN 38487. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 4, 1952 in Nashville, he was the son of the late L. Z. Davis Sr. and Sara Madeline Boykin Davis. On May 5, 1980 he married Libby Humphrey Davis who survives. He was current plant manager with a total of thirty years employment at American Roller Company in Franklin. Mr. Davis was an avid fan of hotrods and drag racing, a sport in which he participated for several years with his car "The Grim Reaper". He also enjoyed shooting pool. A very people-oriented person, he was very friendly and enjoyed meeting new friends and spending time with his friends. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Shauna Davis (Ronnie) Brown of Columbia; one son, Barry (Britney) Davis of Summertown; four grandchildren, Tori Brown, Koda Davis, Karlee-Jo Davis, Kaycee Davis; three sisters, Lisa (Bobby) Raines of White Bluff; Terri Neal of White Bluff; Cindy McCoy of Madison; brother, Randy (Brenda) Davis of Bell Buckle; brothers-in-law, Larry (Rhonda) Humphrey and Jerry Humphrey; sisters-in-law, Cheryl (Butch) Bryant; Glenda (Wayne) Clark; Barbara (Ronnie) Blackburn; Donna (Andy) Bennett; Sandy (Marshall) Anderson; and several special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Mike Davis and one brother-in-law, Terry Humphrey. Active pallbearers will be Andy Bennett, Marshall Anderson, Kevin Humphrey, Wayne Clark, Bobby Raines, Barry Davis, Glenn Hutcherson, and Corey Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of American Roller Company. The family would like to thank his special friend, Steve Russell; all his friends at Marty's Cafe, Pete Davis' Store, Waffle House, all his great employees at American Roller; the staff of Maury Regional Medical Center, especially Alissa, Michael and Chelsea, for their care; and a great appreciation and special thank you to Ronnie Kephart for his services.
