Larry Paul Boatright, 63, employee of Elk Ridge Trucking and resident of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Williamson Medical Center. To honor his request, no services will be scheduled. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. The Maury County native was the son of the late Paul Jeter Boatright and Patricia "Patty" Jane Gifford Boatright. He was a 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. Mr. Boatright enjoyed working with geriatric patients for twenty-five years. He served as Administrator and Regional Administrator for Nursing Facilities. He had traveled to all fifty states, as well as Canada and Mexico. A quiet reserved person by nature, some of his favorite pastimes include reading, gardening and playing World of Warcraft computer game. A great husband, father and grandfather, he is survived by his wife whom he married August 21, 1976, Thelma Osborne Boatright of Lawrenceburg; son, Lawrence Robert "Robbie" Boatright of Lawrenceburg; granddaughter, Halli Marie Boatright of Lawrenceburg; brother, Terry (Martha) Boatright of Columbia; and sister, Debrah Woodard of Asheville, North Carolina. His extended family includes his lifelong friend, Vince Cooper of Columbia; friend since age 11, William Clifton Miller of Murfreesboro; and employers, Richard & Debbie Davis of Summertown.
