View Funeral WebcastMr. Larry Kenneth Burgett, 66, resident of Tampa, Florida and former longtime resident of Nashville, died Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Brookside Hospice House in Pinellas County, Florida. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the Nashville Humane Association, 213 Oceola Avenue, Nashville, TN 37209. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Corbett Jewell Burgett and Bertie Lou Runions Burgett. He graduated from Franklin High School, earned an Associate Degree from business college and was a data entry operator for many years. Mr. Burgett was an animal lover and was very active in dog adoptions. He enjoyed working in his flower garden. Survivors include his life partner of seventeen years, William "Bill" Caldwell of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Joellen Miller of Nashville, Wanda Lee Brown of Parker, Arizona; nephews, Jack Fennell, Lenard Paul Fennell, Dale Fennell, Shea Simmons, Nathan Simmons, Bubba Simmons and Larry Miller, Jr.; and several great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Helen Fennell and a nephew, Bobby Wayne Burgett. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
