Mr. Larry Val Claxton, 83, retired hub manager for Ozark Airlines at Nashville International Airport, died Friday, June 1, 2012 at NHC Hillview. The Cairo, Illinois native was the son of the late Paul Claxton and Vena Deganhardt Claxton and was a former longtime resident of Nashville. Mr. Claxton served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ellenwood Claxton on December 14, 2010. Survivors include a daughter, Valerie Kay Claxton Johnson of Columbia; brothers, John Paul Claxton of Florida and Mike Claxton of St. Louis, Missouri; granddaughter, Leah Nicole Johnson of Columbia; great-grandchild, Logan Lee Johnson of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
