Larry Houston Gilliam, 82, died Friday, May 8, 2026, at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, May 11, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Rock Springs Cemetery with Trent Alexander officiating. The family will visit with friends on Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Rock Springs Cemetery c/o Elizabeth Payne 8487 Hwy 230 McEwen, TN 37101.

Born February 28, 1944, in Columbia, Tennessee, Larry was the son of the late Purzie Gilliam and the late Eurella Heathcott Gilliam. On July 10, 1964, he married Sue Fuller, and together they shared 61 wonderful years of marriage.

Larry graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1963 and retired after more than forty years of dedicated employment with Inner City Products in Lewisburg. He was a hardworking man who enjoyed farming and treasured the time he spent with his family. Above all, Larry loved being a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a member of Westview Church of Christ in Lewisburg.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Fuller Gilliam; son and daughter-in-law, Richie and Windy Gilliam; three grandchildren, Wesley (Kelly) Gilliam, Callie (Cody) Jones, and Matthew (Gabby) Gilliam; four great-grandchildren, Rhett Gilliam, Trace Gilliam, Lottie Jones, and Judd Gilliam; two brothers, Jimmy (Diana) Gilliam and J.W. (Paula) Gilliam; several nieces and nephews, Joey (Kristy) Bell, Joy (J.J.) Duarte, Jammy Gilliam, Jesse (Hayley) Gilliam, Rachel (Byran) Farris, Sammy Ray (Kimberly) Gilliam, and P.J. Gilliam; sisters-in-law, Pat Grimmett and Catherine Reese; and brothers-in-law, Sam (Judy) Fuller and James (Christie) Fuller.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ray Gilliam, and an infant sister.

Pallbearers will be Wesley Gilliam, Matthew Gilliam, Cody Jones, Joey Bell, Jammy Gilliam, Sammy Ray Gilliam, Jesse Gilliam, and Byran Farris.
