View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Laverne Parker Martin, 77, homemaker and resident of Knud Drive, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Home with John Vaughan and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial followed in Wrigley Community Cemetery. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late William Ambers Parker and Amanda Bradley Parker. On December 15, 1956, she married Lewis "Buddy" Martin who survives. She was a graduate of Hickman County High School and Columbia Business College. Mrs. Martin was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Anne Martin of Columbia; seven nieces, Annette (Bobby) Yates of Bellevue; Tina (Bill) Johnson of Gallatin; Statia (Jerry) Noles of Marietta, Georgia; Tabby (Houston) DeHaven of Hardinsburg, Kentucky; Vicky (Ronnie) Roder and Angie (Kenneth) Jackson, both of Dickson; Mitzy (Gerald) Griffin of Bon Aqua; one nephew, Danny (Barbara) Bates of Waverly; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maude Tarkington and Allene Bates. Active pallbearers will be Jack Stanfill, Bo Johnson, Jerry Noles, Gerald Griffin, Lee Yates, Henry Harris, Randy Walters, and Gerald Martin. Honorary pallbearers included Elders and Deacons of Graymere Church of Christ. .
