Lavonda Blocker Green

Lavonda Faye Blocker Green, 79, resident of Summertown, died Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at her daughter’s residence in Harrison, TN.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, August 16, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Simpson officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday, August 15 2025 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Oakes and Nichols Funeral Home, Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Born December 21, 1945 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Ottis Odell Blocker and the late Hattie Evelyn Tensley Blocker. Lavonda was an avid gardener and loved her flowers. She loved watching her favorite T.V. shows: CSI, NCIS Miami, and General Hospital. Lavonda loved Cracker Barrel. She enjoyed Christmas time, helping to decorate the church, and to give to anyone who would accept. She loved her family, especially all of her grandkids. Lavonda was a member of Summertown Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Eddie “Dobber” (Cheryl) Green, Subrenia (Clyde) Sunder, Lisa (Michael) Giaccone; grandchildren, Martny (James) Bunn, Cortny (Jake) McMasters, Talon (Amber) Rowe, Crystal (Andrew) Reich, Alex (Cody) Pope-Holt, Amber (Jeffery) Green, Zac (Brittany) Green, Brandon Michael Giaccone, Gianna Michelle Giaccone, Milanna Miachelli Giaccone; 37 great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Taylor, Dianne Alexander; Brothers. Odell Blocker, Jerry Blocker, Larry Blocker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Shirley Woods, Glenda Hannah; brothers, Vernon Blocker, Randy Blocker; Grandson, Stephen Sunder; Grandson-in-law, Kyle Pope.

Active pallbearers will be; Zac Green, Jeffrey Howell, Hagen Pope, James Bunn, Jaxen Bunn, Jake McMasters, Kent Taylor, and Philip Foster. Honorary Pallbearers will be Talon Rowe, Brandon Giaccone, and Cody Holt.
