View Video TributeElva Lee Dawson Tucker, 77, resident of Lynn Drive, died Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ron DeWitt officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Columbia native was the daughter of the late Marvin Dawson and Clara Mai Jett Dawson and was a 1955 graduate of Central High School. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was employed in Dr. Stephen Simmons' office for thirty years until her retirement. Mrs. Tucker enjoyed her work and was devoted to her patients. She loved bird watching, gardening and most of all spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters, Sandra (John) Phipps of Lewisburg, Brenda Hallmark of Columbia, Cynthia Tucker-Salas of Redmond, Washington; sister, Willie Mai (Sam) Wrather of Columbia; grandchildren, Austin Hallmark, Deanna Phipps, Tanner Hallmark, Scott Phipps, Olivia Salas, Garrett Salas; nephews, Thomas (Kathy) Wrather, Horace (Shirley) Wrather, Terry (Karen) Wrather, Keith (Gina) Wrather; and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Lee Dawson, Jr. Active pallbearers will be Austin Hallmark, Tanner Hallmark, Scott Phipps, Garrett Salas, Thomas Wrather, Horace Wrather, Terry Wrather and Keith Wrather. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Stephen Simmons and all of his past and present staff.
