Mrs. Lillian Dale Dyar King, 93, resident of Forrest Drive, died Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lawrence County Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. King was a Lawrence County native and the daughter of the late Grady Dyar and Annie Lou Stewart Dyar. In 1937 she married William Howard King who preceded her in death on December 23, 1994. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a longtime member of Summertown Baptist Church where she enjoyed her Sunday School Classes. Mrs. King loved her church and her family. Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Griffin of Mt. Juliet, Faye (Jim) Painter of Columbia, Mary Fleeman and Sue Parsons both of Pulaski; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; and one niece. Mrs. King was preceded in death by a sister, Syble Irene Weaver and brothers, Stuart Smith and David Foster Dyar. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
