View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Lilly Mae Schouweiler Walker, 95, retired employee of Campbell & Due Contractors and resident of Woods Drive, died Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Saturday at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Calvin Lunn and Reverend Tommy Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the church. The family suggests memorials be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Team Kids, 1106 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN 38401 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Born April 27, 1920 in Logan County, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Willie Ebert Schouweiler and Dovie Dean Wooten Schouweiler. On April 14, 1940 she married Reverend James Finis Walker who preceded her in death November 7, 1989. A true partner in her husband's ministry, they served several years in Arkansas before coming to West Point Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening and was an excellent cook who was well known for her sweet pickles and rolls. At the age of 93 she picked and prepared twenty-nine quarts of strawberries. She loved quilting and spending time with her family. Mrs. Walker was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her daughters, Kitty (Tommy) Littleton and Sue (Jimmy) Campbell both of Columbia; son, James (Joann) Walker of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Shelia Dawn Debural of Pulaski, David Walker (Rhonda) Littleton of Culleoka, Meredith (Terrence) Bybee of Columbia, Darrel Wayne Walker of North Carolina, Rob Arthur Parrish of Murfreesboro, Karen Denise Culp of California; ten great grandchildren; special friends, Linda Cotton, Jan and Ralph Suttles; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Ebert Schouweiler, Jr.; sister, Nettie Marie Sorey. Active pallbearers will be David Littleton, Darrel Walker, Rob Parrish, Campbell Bybee, Terrence Bybee, Shawn Debural, James Ricks, C.T. Johnson, Larry Goats, and William Goats.
