Lizzie Mae McGaw Dunn

Lizzie Mae McGaw Dunn, 92, died Sunday, June 19, 2011 at her residence on Amber Lynn Circle. Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Curtis Dowdy officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Marvin McGaw and Mary Jane Dial McGaw. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Mrs. Dunn loved sewing, gardening, canning, and was a wonderful cook. August 20, 1937, she married Joe Raymond Dunn, who preceded her in death January 17, 1980. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Omie McGaw, and brothers, William Jesse McGaw and Columbus Marvin McGaw. Survivors include a son, Billy Joe (Ruby) Dunn of Columbia; granddaughter, Betty Jo Dunn of Columbia; special nieces, Deborah (Timothy) Hill of Hackleburg, Alabama and Marsha McGaw of Nashville; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Roger Prince, David Clark, Eddie Blair Delk, Mark Delk, Timothy B. Hill, and Triston Seth Parker. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
