Lois Jean Isbell Underwood

Lois Jean Isbell Underwood, 59, retired Registered Nurse, died Friday, December 31, 2010 at her residence in the Culleoka Community. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Oakes & Nichols with Wayne Pagel officiating. Burial will follow in Wilkes Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of Willa Dean Henson Brown of Culleoka and the late Ernest S. "Pete" Brown and Robert Isbell. Mrs. Underwood was a graduate of Culleoka High School and the Columbia State Community College Nursing Program. For several years she was a member of the nursing staff of NHC Health Care and Home Health. She was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 38 years, Marvin Evans Underwood, Jr. of Culleoka; twin sons, Evan Lane Underwood of Murfreesboro; Kevin Shane (Charlotte) Underwood of Summertown; brothers, Michael (Darlene) Isbell of Columbia; Norris Dale Brown of Culleoka; sister, Rhonda (Matt) Lavacot of Susanville, California; grandchildren, Tristan Underwood, Zoie Underwood, Zander Underwood; step-grandchildren, LaCole Johns and Audrey Johns; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Joe Michael Brown, Tony Henson, Zach Henson, Roger Hamilton, Dwight Hines, Jim Underwood, Jerry Hubbell, and Danny Cole.
