View Video Tribute Loma B. Hudgins Escue, 87, resident of Hampton Road, died Saturday, March 30, 2013 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. to service time at the funeral home. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. Born in the Hornbeck Community in Obion County, she was the daughter of the late William Hudgins and Bunar Little Hudgins. She was first married October 24, 1942 to William E. Cunningham who preceded her in death February 13, 1948. She married Earl Ray Escue September 24, 1951. Their 47-year marriage ended with his death May 18, 1999. Mrs. Escue was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and faithful member of Graymere Church of Christ. An excellent cook, she also loved spending time in her flower garden. Survivors include her daughter, Pamela (Tom Smith) Bowen of Columbia; son, Roger (Donna) Cunningham of Michigan; sisters, Sue Oakes of Mesa, Arizona, Thelma Gilbreath of Savannah, and Bea (Frank Anderson) Poling of Ohio; grandchildren, Shannon (Butch) Forystek, Christopher Cunningham, and Stacy (Jerry) Rich; great-grandchildren, Jason Hilliker, Ariel Cunningham, Jalayna Cunningham, Caitlin Peterson, and Raylan Rich; several niece and nephews. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mable Hessket and Amanda Sloan and brother, Tom Hudgins. Active pallbearers are Thomas Smith, Jerry Rich, Michael Hawkins, Jason Hilliker, Jerry Hessket, and Terry Hessket. Honorary pallbearers include the staff of Signature Health Care and Melissa Stewart Wood.
