View Video Tribute Lorene Fox Skillington, 81, resident of Snow Creek Road, died Wednesday, June 27, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Sherry Ladd and Rev. James Gardner officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A native of Williamson County she was the daughter of the late Horace G. Fox and Thelma Elizabeth Godwin Fox. She was a 1948 graduate of Santa Fe High School and also graduated from Columbia Business College. On November 13, 1949 she married Joe Frank Skillington who preceded her in death September 29, 2006. Mrs. Skillington was a member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a very active member. Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Jo Skillington of Santa Fe; niece, Brenda (Rev. James) Gardner of Columbia; great-niece, Nicole (Jon) Martin of Newbern; great-great nephew, Quincy Martin of Newbern; sisters-in-law, Ruth Skillington, Ann Skillington, Faye Bohannon; brothers-in-law Dewey Skillington, David Skillington; special first cousin, Margueritte Holmes; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Don Jeffery Skillington, February 3, 1962 and a sister, Imogene Fox Sealy, July 28, 2010. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Foster, Keith Baker, Winfred Baker, Danny Fox, Dean Sewell, Byron White and Jimmy Humphrey. Honorary pallbearers include Bill Flatt, Jeffrey Odom, Gerry Skillington, Terry Skillington, Ricky Skillington, Tom Gordon, Richard Groce, David Sewell, Santa Fe Class of 1948, members of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Dr. Thomas Farmer and Dr. Anthony Khim.
