View Video TributeMrs. Mamie Lorraine Burlison Rieves, 86, resident of Brannon Court, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. Burial will follow in Rieves Bend Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Dyersburg, she was the daughter of the late Archibald Burlison and Bertha Lee Bates Burlison Warren. Her formative years were spent in Centerville before moving to Columbia. She was first married to Leon Throneberry of Texas; then later married William B. Rieves who preceded her in death in 1983. Mrs. Rieves worked at Weather Tamer for several years and sat with the elderly before she retired. She was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include her daughters, Barbara Rieves Pierce (fiancé Michael Bailey) of Columbia, Debra Rieves of Hawaii; sons, Bill (Avery) Rieves of Texas, Gary (Joan) Throneberry of Columbia; grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Pierce, Austin Pierce, Nick Rieves, Jennifer Rieves (Brad) Taylor, Barry Throneberry,. Gary Throneberry, Jr., Chad Throneberry, Adam Throneberry, Jason Throneberry, Vince Throneberry, Devlin Howton, Ryan Howton, Jared Howton; and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Throneberry; grandsons, Jimmy Throneberry and Ricky Throneberry; brother, Richard Warren; and sister, Louise Johnson. Pallbearers will be Michael Bailey, Chad Pierce, Austin Pierce, Bill Rieves, Gary Throneberry and Daniel Love.
