Louis Eubank, Jr., 86, retired CPA, died Friday, November 29, 2013 at his residence on Walnut Lane. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 7:00 P.M. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Vassar, Rev. Ron Brown, and Rev. Rush Harrison officiating. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the church. A graveside service will be held Tuesday at 4:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, 2712 Trotwood Avenue, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Pontotoc, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Louis Lee Eubank, Sr. and Flora Inez Lowery Eubank. He was a graduate of Pontotoc High School in Pontotoc, Mississippi and relocated to Columbia in 1948 to work with his uncle in Eubank Office Supply. A Certified Public Accountant, he was a former employee of Sharpe Home Oil Company and retired from Edwards Oil Company. He was a member and inactive deacon of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church and served as Church Treasurer for the past forty-six years. He was a very loving family man that was dedicated to his church and family. Survivors include his wife whom he married October 8, 1947, Wilma Franklin Eubank of Columbia; two daughters, Brenda (Danny) Shouse of Columbia; Linda (J. J.) Oakley of Culleoka; two grandchildren, Christina Grace Oakley and Michael Roland Oakley, both of Culleoka; sister-in-law, Falba Selby of Pontotoc, Mississippi; two nieces. Beverly (Bill) Taylor of Counce, Tennessee; and Sandra (Carney) Walden of Pontotoc, Mississippi; and several great nieces and great nephews. Active pallbearers will be David Byers, Charles Tisher, Dr. Doug Kennedy, Arch Warren, Bobby Chance, Joel Rainey, Pete Coggin, Rick Jenkins, and Lonnie Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will include all active and inactive deacons of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.
