Mrs. Sarah Louise Foster Grissom, 88, retired nursing assistant at Maury Regional Medical Center, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at her residence on Highland Avenue. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Pastor Victor Alley officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Columbia Church of God, 2112 Highland Avenue, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Ben Foster and Lucy Sutton Foster and a member of the Columbia Church of God. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Grissom of Columbia; sisters, Dorothy Johnson and Betty Thurman of Columbia; brother, Taylor (Christine) Foster of Columbia; grandchildren, Tammy Adams, James Adams, Jr., Sherril Walls, Ray Tinsley, Joy Lancaster, Frankie Berry, Mike Ragsdale, and Marcie Spires; several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amon Grissom, May 17, 1995; daughters, Carolyn Ragsdale and Wanda Grissom; step-son, Donald Grissom; sister, Bessie Clark; and brothers, Raymond Foster and Lee Foster. Active pallbearers are James Adams, Jr., Mike Ragsdale, Eddie Ferguson, Ray Tinsley, Randy Thurman, Larry Belew, and Buddy Gidcomb. Honorary pallbearers include Don Christopherson and Jeff Berry.
