View Video Tribute . Loyd Allen Malugin, 60, former owner and operator of Malugin's Upholstery Shop, died Friday, August 27, 2010 at his residence on Gaskill Branch Road in the Santa Fe Community. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols with Bobby Kelley officiating. Burial will follow at New Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The Hickman County native was the son of Leonard Malugin of Primm Springs and the late Mildred McCord Malugin. He was a 1968 graduate of Santa Fe High School and served in the U.S. Army where he was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era. While serving his country he earned the National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Medal. He loved horses and enjoyed trail riding on horseback and pulling wagons. Survivors in addition to his father include his son, Waylon Malugin of Santa Fe; two sisters, Carolyn Potts of Columbia, Wanda (Bobby) Bradley of Thompson's Station; two brothers, Harold (Karen) Malugin, Billy Joe (Donna) Malugin both of Primm Springs; two grandsons, Kaiden Malugin and Peyton Andre both of Columbia; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Garland, Michael Garland, Ben Malugin, Shawn Malugin, Zachary Potts and Jason Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Joe Spears, Terry Hodge, Ricky Bishop, Phil Halbrook and Phillip Hill.
