Lucy Ann Allen Duley, 85, former Columbia resident, passed into glory Saturday, July 10, 2010 at Alive Hospice of Nashville. A memorial service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Vassar officiating. Private family interment will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. Notes of sympathy may be sent towww.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Louisville, Kentucky, she was the youngest of six children of the late Robert Allen and Lucille Pruitt Allen. While a nursing student at the University of Louisville, she met and married a medical student, Jack Ray Duley. She and Dr. Duley moved to Columbia in 1958 when he became the first radiologist at Maury Regional Medical Center. She made her home in Longwood, Florida in recent years. While living in Columbia, Mrs. Duley was an active member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church for 40 years and the Dot Bone Sunday School Class. She also participated in a ladies prayer and Bible study group for a number of years. She was preceded in death by Dr. Duley and 2 sons, Jack Ray Duley, Jr. and Robert Alan Duley. Survivors include 2 daughters, Betty Lynn Duley of Nashville and Karen (Phil) Daimwood of Orlando, Florida; granddaughters, Brandy Daimwood, Dixie Daimwood, and Daisy Daimwood; and 2 great-grandsons. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements.
