View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Mable Ann Miller Smith, 85, long-time resident of Riverside Drive, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wayne B. Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers. Born and reared in the Pottsville Community in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late John O. Miller and Maria Derryberry Miller. Mrs. Smith is well-remembered as a cashier for the Kroger Company for 25 years. She was a member of Northview Church of Christ and enjoyed being a good neighbor and helping others in any way she could. She and her husband traveled a good deal and she especially loved the beaches in Florida and the Carolinas. Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William J. "Bill" Smith; daughter, Wanda (Jim) Duncan of Nashville; son, John Bingham Smith of Columbia; sister, Peggy Miller Atkisson of Franklin; grandchildren, Cara Danae Smith and Abby Lauren Smith of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Jalen Matthew Hunt and Isaac Drake Olguin. She was preceded in death by a brother, J. O. Miller, Jr. The family expresses deep appreciation to Dr. Kanth and staff, and care-givers, Elaine Walters, Ollie Minor, Judy Stanley, Lynn Williamson, Nida Bishop and Hospice Compassus.
