Maggie Sudberry Hubbell

Mrs. Maggie Sudberry Hubbell, 80, resident of Park Circle, died Monday, July 1, 2013 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. at Sparkman Cemetery in Williamson County with Wayne Hardison officiating. The family suggests memorials to Maggie Hubbell Memorial Fund, 1034 Willow Park Circle, Hendersonville, TN 37075. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Oakes & Nichols assisted the family with arrangements. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Herschel Sudberry and Lena Hassell Sudberry. A graduate of Spring Hill High School, she earned a Bachelor's degree from David Lipscomb University and did graduate studies at UT School of Social Work. She began her career teaching in Maury County schools and later worked in the Maury County Welfare Department. In 1969 she was employed as guidance counselor at David Lipscomb High School until her retirement in 1994. As late as last fall she was substitute teaching at Maury County schools. Mrs. Hubbell was a member of Northview Church of Christ. Survivors include her son, Richard (Kim) Hubbell of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Julie Hubbell, Slade Hubbell; and sister, Mrs. Rachel Haffner of Thompsons Station. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
