Marcia Garrett Farrar, 86, former Columbia resident, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at her residence in Palm City, Florida where she made her home for many years. Graveside services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Wendell Robinson officiating. The family will visit with friends at graveside. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Born and reared in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late John Silas Garrett, Jr. and Marcia Wetherby Garrett and a 1941 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. Survivors include twin daughters, Melissa June Farrar of Dunwoody, Georgia and Marcia Elizabeth Farrar of Palm City, Florida; a son, John Ford (Lynn) Farrar of Chattanooga; a sister, June Garrett Bond of Lewisburg; and four grandchildren, Courtney Felch, Adam Felch, Ashleigh Farrar, and Taylor Farrar. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Silas Garrett.
