Margaret Blackburn Harris, 91, a lifelong resident of Columbia, Tennessee died Sunday, February 15, 2026 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Thompson officiating. Burial will follow on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born on November 25, 1934 in Maury County, TN to the late William F. Blackburn and the late Ora Alleen Hood Blackburn. She graduated from Santa Fe High School in 1952 and for several years she worked for DuPont and retired from General Electric. Margaret enjoyed garage sales, estate sales, and growing roses. She was a member of Bigbyville Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband of seventy years, Norman P. Harris of Columbia; two sons, Chris (Sheila) Harris of Knoxville and Craig (Carolann) Harris of Columbia; two grandchildren, Jonathan Harris of Birmingham, AL and Rebecca Harris of Doerun, Georgia; step grandson, Vincent Ferrara of New Orleans, Louisiana; great grandson, Rhett Jonathan Harris; brother, Howard Blackburn of Charleston, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Marion Parham of Panama City, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Ruby Parham and two brothers, Allen Blackburn and Dr. C. Edward Blackburn.
Pallbearers will be Jonathan Harris, Vincent Ferrara, Paul Blackburn, Scotty Blackburn, Randy Foster, Stephan Phillips, and Tim Shannon. Honorary pallbearers will be Carolyn and Raymond Simpson, Henry Harris, Charlotte Jones, Allen Jones, and Shirley Thompson. The family would like to express a special thanks to the nurses at Third West at Maury Regional Medical Center, Hospice Compassus, and the staff of Morning Pointe of Columbia for their care.
