View Video Tribute Margaret Jean Potts Jennette, 83, long-time resident of Carter's Creek Pike, died Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brother Doyle Hurst officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Big Harpeth Primitive Baptist Church, Liberty Pike, Franklin, TN 37064. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Emory Thomas Potts and Hazel Elizabeth Foster Potts. She was a member of Big Harpeth Primitve Baptist Church. Mrs. Jennette was an avid gardener, loved her flowers, enjoyed quilting, and was devoted to her dog, "Maggie." She married James Irvin Jennette on December 3, 1948. He preceded her in death on June 8, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Potts. Survivors include her daughter, Carol Jennette (Gary) Love of Columbia; granddaughter, Jennifer Carol Love (Scott) Kennedy of Columbia; sisters, Charlotte Hickman and Rachel Tennyeson, both of Columbia; brothers, Marshall Thomas "M.T." (Freeda) Potts and Billy (Betty Lou) Potts, both of Columbia. The family wishes to give special recognition to the staff and doctors of Maury Regional Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit for their excellent care and compassion. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
