Margaret Morton Parsons

Margaret Morton Parsons, 77, devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. A longtime resident of Williamsport, Tennessee died Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at Willow Springs Assisted Living Facility in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

Margaret was born October 24, 1948 in Nashville, TN, to the late Joseph Johnson Morton and the late Frances Louise Bell Morton. She graduated from Hume Fogg High School in Nashville and worked for forty-five years with South Central Bell. She was a member of West 7th Street Church of Christ.

On July 30, 1966, she married Floyd English Parsons, Jr., and together they built a beautiful life filled with hard work, dedication, and unconditional love. Their marriage of more than fifty-five years stood as an example of loyalty, strength, and devotion that lasted until his death on September 26, 2021.

Margaret was a loving and supportive mother to Brian Parsons of Williamsport, Jonathan (Heather) Parsons of Columbia, and Erin (Andy) Haines of Spring Hill. Nothing brought her greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren: Brittan Parsons Cowan (Darby), Braden Parsons, Maci Parsons, Lily Parsons, Mattie Parsons, Hannah Haines, Katie Haines, and Jace Haines; two sisters, Debbie Sue Wright and Brenda Rhoten; a brother, Bobby Morton; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd English Parsons, Jr., along with her parents and several siblings including Mary Elizabeth Flynn, Betty Jo Luna, Frances Eugene Holloway, James Edward Morton, John Patrick Morton and Joseph Morton.

Pallbearers will be Andy Haines, Jace Haines, Braden Parsons, Curt Harakas, Jacob Muza and Donnie Joe Rhoten.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 22, 2026 at 12:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Donnie Joe Rhoten officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.
