View Video Tribute Margaret Walker Rennolds, 96, retired Columbia saleslady, died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at her residence on North Laurel Circle. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3:30 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Hubert Cunningham and Rev. Tommy Vann officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to service time Friday at the funeral home. The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late William Lark Walker and Winnie Dove Aaron Walker. She was a 1935 graduate of Summertown High School and attended Columbia Business College. She married Edwin H. Rennolds December 25, 1937. Their sixty-six year marriage ended with his death November 13, 2004. Known for her sociable personality and love of people, Mrs. Rennolds was a fixture in downtown Columbia for many years where she worked as a saleslady at McClellan's, Derryberry's Drug Store, and Jack & Jill Children's Shop. She was an active member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and involved with the Adult I Sunday School Class and the Prayer and Share Group. She loved children, music, sight-seeing, dining out, coin-collecting, and cooking and baking for family and friends. Survivors include her son, Edwin Rennolds of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter-in-law, Shirley Hoffman Rennolds of Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Renee (Joe) Copeland of Omaha, Nebraska, Scott (Christine) Rennolds of North Carolina, Sean (Janelle) Rennolds of Pennsylvania, and Susan Rennolds of Alaska; great-grandchildren, Cody Copeland, Nicole Copeland, Joe Copeland, Jr., Bobbie Copeland, and Casey Copeland; nephews, Gil Negendank, David Walker, Chad Negendank, and Tommy Rennolds; cousins, Gail Anderson, Nancy Bibb, Frieda Fincher, Janet Preble, and Bill DePriest; loving care-givers, Joanne Cannata, Annie Hardison, Elaine Jones, Kathleen Miller, and Irma Rippy devoted neighbors, Bill Smith, Vicky Lee, and Jerry Alderson. She was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Rennolds; sister, Mildred Negendank; brothers, Charles Walker, Harold Walker, George Walker, and Billy Walker; and nephews, Bill Negendank and Tommy West. Serving as active pallbearers include Joe Copeland, Cody Copeland, Joe Copeland, Jr., Casey Copeland, Gil Negendank, and Scott Rennolds. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Alderson, Bill DePriest, Bobby Fisher, Bill smith, and Chad Negendank.
