View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Margarette Fitzgerald Woody, 82, (affectionately known as "Mama James") long-time resident of the Santa Fe Community, died Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. David McGregor and Rev. Sherry Ladd officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 2630 Santa Fe Pike, Santa Fe 38482. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Commodore Fitzgerald and Lettie Brown Fitzgerald and attended Santa Fe schools. She was a long-time member of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, James Walker Woody, whom she married July 12, 1947; daughter, Mary Carolyn (Richard) Lacher of Waynesboro; son, Jimmy Kent (Anita) Woody of Santa Fe; sisters, Mary Helen Woody of Columbia and Doris Russell of Gallatin; grandchildren, Anthony Lacher, Mark Hughes, Terri Lacher, Bethany Reischman, and Kara Burns; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Lorine Pigg. Active pallbearers are Mark Hughes, Anthony Locher, Robert Reischman, Caleb Burns, Danny Fox, Dean Sewell, David Sewell, and Ben Woody. Members of Santa Fe Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Maxine and Jack Lockhart, and Ricky Woody will serve as honorary pallbearers.
