View Funeral WebcastMargie Faye King Puckett Orvis, 84, died Thursday, November 28, 2013 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bradley Dugger officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Silver Lake Cemetery in Wolverine, Michigan. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Jackson Heights Church of Christ, 1200 Nashville Highway, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Lake County, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Jack Calvin King and Lucy Hopper King. She was first married to Drury Minton Puckett who preceded her in death in 1970. A longtime resident of Plymouth, Michigan, Mrs. Orvis relocated to Columbia, Tennessee in 2001 after the death of her second husband, Lance Walter Orvis. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of Jackson Heights Church of Christ. The very devoted mother and grandmother is survived by her son, Drury Minton (Sara) Puckett, Jr. of Columbia; beloved niece, Joyce (Dale) Sorenson of Temecula, California; brother, Jack Calvin (Dorothy) King of Belleville, Michigan; five grandchildren, Command Sergeant Major Drury Minton (Janice) Puckett, III, Janell (Bobby) Hollis, Michele (Jacob) Marbet, Sara (Stewart) Parker, Nathan Puckett; eleven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Marty Rand Puckett in 1990; five sisters, and three brothers.
