View Funeral WebcastMrs. Margie Sneed Sweeney, 86, retired seamstress at Dixie Manufacturing, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at her residence on Brookview Circle. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jim Matthews officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late John Lee Sneed and Lola Lovell Sneed. In 1937 she married William Carter Sweeney, Jr., who preceded her in death in 1955. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors include three sons, John (Mary Paul) Sweeney, Jerry (Jonell) Sweeney, Michael (Becky) Sweeney, all of Columbia; three daughters, Nancy (Joe) Bell and Dorothy (J. W.) Campbell of Columbia; Kaye (Fred) Hahn of Brentwood; sixteen grandchildren, Tim Sweeney, Troy Sweeney, Tracey Bond, Terry Hill, Michelle Jetton, Tammy Derryberry, Jon Sweeney, Tonya Richardson, Jason Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, Steve Bell, Scott Bell, Katie Connelly, Jerusha Pitts, Kelly Connor, Jared Sweeney; twenty-one great grandchildren, Eliza Sweeney, Meredith Sweeney, Garrett Hill, Reagan Hill, Daryl Hanvy, Tanner Derryberry, Taylor Richardson, Trent Richardson, Adam Bell, Rebecca Bell, Jaye Pitts, Heather Bell, Parker Jetton, Austyn Sweeney, Alyvia Sweeney, Nicholas Campbell, Coy Campbell, Mason Campbell, Taylor Warf, Tanner Warf, Emily Campbell; two sisters, Christine (Garland) Barlor of Pulaski, Estelle Witherspoon of Columbia; and two brothers, Bobby (Joy) Sneed of Nashville; Donald (Dottie) Sneed of Columbia. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Judy Sweeney and Jean Hight; and two brothers, Odell Sneed and Morris Sneed. Pallbearers will be Tim Sweeney, Troy Sweeney, Jon Sweeney, Jason Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, and Jared Sweeney.
