MRS. MARGUERITE BUCHANANMrs. Marguerite Bowker Buchanan, 89, former resident of Oak Drive in Columbia, died Friday, December 20, 2002, in Natchez, Mississippi, where she made her home for the past three years.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. David McGregor, pastor of McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.The Dickson County native was the daughter of the late Joseph T. Bowker and Nancy Ann Sensing Bowker. She was married to Douglas Victor Buchanan who preceded her in death in 1986. Mrs. Buchanan was a homemaker and a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. For many years she served as a Gray Lady for the American Red Cross.Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Nancy and Jackie Potts of Columbia; and Peggie and Dr. Joe Herrington of Church Hill, Mississippi; granddaughters, Betsy Estabrooks of Tullahoma; Becky Guedon of Church Hill, Mississippi; and Denise Seale of Natchez, Mississippi; grandson Mike Herrington of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister and her husband, Pearl and Maxie Nichols of Nashville; three great granddaughters and six great grandsons.Pallbearers will be Billy Max Nichols, Douglas Nichols, Mike Herrington, Lewis Guedon, Jasper Seal, Lee Estabrooks, Bill Russell and Gary Sylvis.
