View Video Tribute Annie Marie Brown Slaughter, 81, resident of Pleasant Drive, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Church of Christ with Elmer Lusk, Brian Gregory and Joe Macer officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4 - 8 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday after 1 p.m. at the church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Arthur Brown and Irene Gray Brown. On August 1, 1950 she married Robert C. Slaughter who preceded her in death on July 18, 2004. Mrs. Slaughter was a homemaker and a member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Retha Ann Slaughter Jett of Columbia and two sisters, Mrs. Doris Brown Pratt of Columbia and Mrs. Mattie Brown Williams of Detroit, Michigan. She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.D. Brown and James Pipkin. Pallbearers will be Wayne Williams, Thomas Brown, Buddy Smith, Joshua Brawner, Shane Hickman and Randell Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Pagel, Barry Gene Pagel, Gary Gordon, Sonny Gordon, Boyd Wood, Alfred Pagel, members of Eastside Church of Christ and her caregivers, Phyllis Goad and Helen Sanders.
