Mrs. Marion Jean Haywood Shaw, 81, former employee of Baskin-Robbins and resident of Santa Fe Pike, died Monday, November 16, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Muston officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. She was married to Joseph Jacobs "Joe" Shaw who preceded her in death on July 3, 1990. She was a member of Knob Creek Baptist Church where she served as pianist for more than sixty years. Survivors include three sons, Larry Joe (Alice) Shaw and Thomas Christopher "Chris" (Angie) Shaw, both of Columbia; Joseph Jacobs "Jake" (Vickie) Shaw, Jr. of Hazelgreen, Alabama; two daughters, Jackie (Larry) McMeen and Vickie (Tommy) Logue, both of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Patricia "Pat" West of Columbia; two brothers, Harold (Fay) Haywood of Columbia; John (Margaret) Haywood of Cornersville; six grandchildren, Kevin Shaw, Emily McMeen (Carl) Sanders, Jennie Shaw, Kelsey Logue, Ryan Shaw, Zachary Shaw; one great grandchild, Kennedy Sanders; one sister-in-law, Faye Ledbetter of Columbia; two brothers-in-law, George (Kay) Shaw of Columbia; Jerry (Frankie) Nix of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ann Brown, Carolyn Nix, Edwina Tapper; and two grandchildren, Ralston Shaw and John Emmett Shaw. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Fitzgerald, Charles Keltner, Jack Willis, Fred Tapper, Joe West, and Tony West. Honorary pallbearers will be Phain & Kaye Smith and members of Knob Creek Baptist Church.
