View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastMrs. Marjorie Gabell Calvert, 96, former longtime resident of Culleoka, died Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at her residence at The Blakeford at Green Hills. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Kip Rush officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN, 38203. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Sheddan Addison Gabell and Beulah Edwards Gabell. She was a 1934 graduate of Central High School. On November 15, 1939 she married Robert Lamar Calvert who preceded her in death on May 3, 1985. Mrs. Calvert was a homemaker who loved reading and cooking. She also enjoyed painting, crocheting and sewing. Mrs. Calvert was a member of Culleoka Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Bettie Calvert Dugger of Murfreesboro, Barbara Calvert (Billy) Dial of Brentwood; four grandchildren, Susan Dugger (LTC Ralph) Standbrook of Manassas, Virginia, Marjorie Dial (Scott) Mennen of Red Bank, New Jersey, Sarah Dugger (Gary) Fleming of Franklin, Michael Calvert Dial of Murfreesboro; seven great-grandchildren, Jonathan Hunt Standbrook and Abigail Katherine Standbrook both of Manassas, Virginia; Emily Elizabeth Fleming of Franklin; Douglas Michael Mennen of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Amanda Lee Mennen of Raleigh, North Carolina; Devin Elizabeth Dial of Woodbury, Andrew Robert Dial of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jonathan Hunt Dugger and three sisters, Josephine Morgan, Mattie Ruth McGrew and Polly Goodloe. Active pallbearers will be Scott Mennen, Douglas Mennen, Michael Dial, Jim McGrew, John Goodloe and LTC Ralph Standbrook. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Goodloe, Larry Calvert, Ed Morton, Andrew Dial, Jonathan Standbrook and the staff at The Blakeford at Green Hills.
