Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Sands, Vernon Brooks, Carl Brooks, and Charles Hunt officiating. Born November 14, 1935 in Nashville, she was the daughter of the late George Washington Allen and Sarah Emma Brooks Allen. On May 6, 1955, she married Dual Wayne Gibson who preceded her in death on June 28, 1990. During the span of her career in customer service at the Columbia Power and Water System, she touched the lives and hearts of many people who will remember her as a very kind, sweet, and caring person. Mrs. Gibson was an avid reader with an insatiable appetite for books. She enjoyed painting, arts and crafts, and keeping in touch with her friends and family with thoughtful cards and letters. Another great love of hers was performing as an actress. She was an active member and proud supporter of the Maury County Arts Guild. Mrs. Gibson started her "acting career" in the 90's appearing in the production of Steel Magnolias playing the role of "Clairee". She continued her love of being on the stage through the productions of It's a Wonderful Life, and To Kill a Mockingbird. Margie won the Best Actress of the Year award for her character of "Big Mama" (which people at the Arts Guild still fondly call her) in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, but her absolute favorite role of all time was playing "Miss Daisy" in Driving Miss Daisy. Mrs. Gibson also served as a crew member on many of the Maury County Arts Guild productions, and you could find her every time the doors were open as a volunteer in many capacities throughout the years. Survivors include her daughter, Glenda Gibson of White House; niece, Suzanne Supplee of Baltimore, Maryland; nephews, David Gibson of Columbia and Steven Hickman of Spring Hill and "her boys", Brian Shreeve, Rob Lester, and Randy Short. Pallbearers will be David Gibson, Steven Hickman, Carl Brooks, Edward Brooks, Butch Brooks, Kelly Powell, Rob Lester, and Brian Shreeve.
