Mrs. Martha Chunn Wilson, 81, resident of Chippendale Circle, died Tuesday, March 2, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David Sawyer officiating. Burial will follow in Shires Cemetery in the Pottsville Community. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Knowlie Smith Chunn and Mary Rainey Chunn. She was a graduate of Spring Hill High School. On August 23, 1947 she married Walter Ray Wilson of Columbia who survives. Mrs. Wilson was a retired technician in the pediatric unit at Vanderbilt Medical Center. For several years she lived in Winter Haven, Florida and while there she worked for Dr. Arthur Mosley and also worked in Real Estate. She was a member of the Eastern Star and her hobbies included ceramics, painting and reading. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the church of Christ. She was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors in addition to her husband are two daughters Gina (Patrick) Campbell and Marsha (Shirley) Cole both of Spring Hill; four grandchildren Laura (fiancée, Dane Purtle) Campbell, Susan Campbell, Matthew (Joy Marie) White, Michael (Jessica) White; six great-grandchildren, Peyton White, Caroline White, Cole White, Brayden White, Landon White, Jonah White; a niece Mary Anne Griffis; and a nephew Danny Chunn. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters: Mildred Chunn, Glenn Chunn, Evelyn McGaha, J.T. Chunn and Neoma Smith. Pallbearers will be Patrick Campbell, Charles Raines, Kenneth Mullinax, Loyd Anderson, Matthew White, Michael White and Dane Purtle.
