Martha Ann Allen Covington, 69, a devoted Christian, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Life Care Center of Columbia.
Born in Columbia, Tennessee, Martha was the daughter of Virginia Wynn Allen and the late Ernest Wilson Allen, Sr. She was a 1974 graduate of Columbia Central High School and continued her education at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski and Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.
Martha was one of the sweetest people you would ever meet and was a gifted artist whose creativity and talent brought beauty and joy to those around her. She was a devoted homemaker who loved her family dearly. She was an active member of Spring Hill United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed fellowship and service through her membership in the Lelia Anderson King's Daughters Circle.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Everett Steven Covington, who died on July 31, 2015.
She leaves behind cherished memories with her loving family, including her daughter, Lauren Elizabeth Covington of Spring Hill; her son, Everett Wilson Covington; her mother, Virginia Wynn Allen of Columbia; her sister, Mary Virginia “Ginna” Campbell and her husband, Carl, of Franklin; her brother, Ernest Wilson Allen, Jr. and his wife, Lynnette, of Columbia; and her beloved nieces and nephews, Wesley Allen Edwards (Angie), Katie Edwards Price (Kevin), Will Allen, and Reid Allen.
Martha will be remembered for her gentle spirit, love of the Bible, artistic gifts, and the love she shared with family and friends. Her kindness, generosity, and devotion to others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Funeral service will be conducted Friday, June 19, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family ask those attending the funeral service, please bring you Bibles to the service. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Though her earthly journey has ended, the legacy of her faith, love, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
