Martha Jane McCullom

Mrs. Martha Jane Baker McCullom, 78, former resident of Smyrna, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at Community Care of Rutherford County. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered to the family online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. McCullom was employed as custodian at Whitthorne School for thirty years. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and growing flowers. She was especially fond of spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. McCullom was a very active member of Lanton Church of Christ until her declining health prevented her from attending. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Mullins of Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Cole, Jamie Cole, Shannon Cole, Sarah Cole, and Jacob Mullins, all of Murfreesboro; sons, Larry Wayne Chapman of Las Vegas, NV; J. C. Chapman, Jr. of Nashville; and sister, Ann Baker of Franklin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam McCullom and mother, Rosa Baker.
