Mary Ann Morton Fry

Mary Ann Morton Fry, 104, a resident of Columbia, passed away peacefully at her residence on April 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ralph Gilmore officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Monday, April 6 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born January 24, 1922 in Columbia, TN, Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Edward F. Morton and the late Nannie Mae Hardison Morton Murphy. On September 17, 1947 she married the love of her life Raymond Fry and spent fifty two wonderful years together. She was a farmer’s wife who enjoyed gardening, baking, cooking, reading, and working on Word Puzzles. Mary Ann was a member of Graymere Church of Christ.

Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Lisa Fry Edwards; granddaughters, Jessica Edwards, Anne (Josh) Edwards Love; great grandson, Mack Love; and several nieces, nephews, and great nieces who she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Raymond Fry, and her six siblings.

Active pallbearers will be Wayne Romesburg, Josh Love, Ken Webb, Jon Bailey, Ed Campbell, Larry Manchester, Slawek Mleko, and Mack Love.

The family would like to give special thanks to Hospice Compassus nurses; Kayla, Pam, and Teresa for their loving care, as well as her Skyview Court neighbors and friends.
