Mary Virgie Chatman Ervin, 84, resident of Terrace Drive, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:30 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Eddie Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Earl Chatman and the late Leonard Voss Chatman. On July 17, 1947, she married John William Ervin, who preceded her in death November 30, 2002. Family was Virgie's pride and joy; and she worked hard to provide for them. After several years' employment as Floor Supervisor at Weather Tamer, she and her husband were owners and operators of Campbellsville Pike Country Store. Her last employment was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Rosewood Manor. She enjoyed music, dancing, and visiting casinos. Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Bubba) Henson of Murfreesboro; Teresa Rose of Columbia; son, John William (Debbie) Ervin, Jr. of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Tracy (Eric) Disney, Stacy (Melissa) Henson, Christy (Terry Sexton) Ali; David (Lindsay) Henson, Kimberly Ervin, Christy (Jeff) Lee, Sheena Belew, Jonathan Bishop, Tiffany Ervin; ten great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Reaves of Columbia. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Hay and Dorothy Kelly. Pallbearers will be Stacy Henson, David Henson, Eric Disney, Terry Sexton, Jonathan Bishop, and Malachi Ervin. Her great granddaughter, Amirra Ali, will lead the casket.
