Mary Alexander Green

Mrs. Mary Alexander Green, 85, resident of West 17th St., died Friday, August 16, 2013 at Hillview Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 noon until time of service at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Joseph Cotton Alexander and Laura Voorhies Alexander. She was a graduate of Columbia Central High School and had been employed by Akins Market. She was married to Homus V. "Cruchi" Green who preceded her in death February 4, 1990. Mrs. Green was a member of Loyal Chapel Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors include nephews, Chip Alexander of Nashville, Roy Alexander of Golden, Colorado; nieces, Tammi DeJarnette of Nashville, Carol Pearce of Redondo Beach, California, Teresa Moore of Gadsden, Alabama; sister-in-law, Dot Alexander of Nashville; and several great nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be W.L. Culberson, David Priest, Garrett Baker, Gaston Baker, Bobby Baker and Troy Bowers.
